We attended the Nebraska Book Festival over the weekend. It was a well organized affair, though it wasn’t heavily attended. I particularly enjoyed meeting the vendors, representatives from publishers and some published authors. One of those who had a booth has been on the New York Times Bestseller list and since has written a book entitled, “HOW TO FIND SUCCESS SELLING eBOOKS.” Her name is Victorine E. Lieske from a small town near where I live. I truly enjoyed chatting with her and her friend, Gina Barlene. Gina has written several books and her most recent novel, “Thorns of Rosewood,” just hit 1000 copies sold in a month. What a nice benchmark. I hope to get there one day.
Conversations with other authors have netted me nuggets of help and information that I hope will lead to improved distribution. If you are reading this check out my novels and those of the ladies I mentioned.
A friend of mine was a presenter at the festival, Kent Krause. He read from his novel, “Behind in the Count. There was a lot of great content available for the one day conference. I checked and there are festivals in all the surrounding states. Attendance at the Nebraska Festival was free so it is well worth the time spent. Look for a similar activity near you.
