Adding Author to your titles
I have accomplished many things in my life, so far. I am a physician and love my work. I am a father/grandfather and I love my children and grandchildren. I have served in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard for twenty three years (and counting). I am a Christian man (which means that I know that I’m not perfect, but know the One who is).
To this list of “titles” I have, in recent years, added the label “author.” It is often interesting to see the reaction of people when I tell them that I have published two books. The usual first question is “Oh? What aspect of medicine did you write about?” Most of the people I know find it hard to imagine me writing fiction novels. Looking back in my life it was one of the least expected roads for me to follow. I don’t know anyone in my family who has done this before me. I am a family doctor, not a psychiatrist, so I won’t try to analyze why I chose to write fiction, but I can honestly say that it is a new journey that has continuing, enjoyable perks. As I write these blogs and read others I am being introduced to people from around the world who are passionate about their livelihoods. Many have written about their professions.
Some of you are poets, some write fantasy, YA, and romance. My horizons have been expanded by you.
What are your titles? What are your passions? Do you write? What do you read? Let’s expand each other’s horizons.by
